課程概述

Course Description:
This course is especially designed for physical therapists who are interested in teaching. The contents of this course include the preparation and techniques used in academic and clinical teaching for students, patient/family, and clinical staff who work in the hospitals and clinics. The preparation and techniques refer to analysis, designing, development, implementation, evaluation in different teaching environments, and the related administrative work. In addition, it compares physical therapy education between the United States and that in Taiwan.
 

課程目標
Course Objectives:
At the end of the course, each student should be able to:

1. Identify and prioritize educational needs of audience and self.
2. Design, conduct, evaluate, and modify educational programs based on audience needs.
3. Provide education for a variety of audiences such as patients, family, other care givers, clinical educators, community, policy makers, payers, and peers
4. Engage in self-directed learning activities.
5. Recognize role as educator including capabilities and limitations.
6. State the role and responsibilities of a physical therapy educator versus a physical therapy administrator in a higher education institution.
7. State the history of and trends in physical therapy professional education.
8. State the history and trends of physical therapy post-professional education.
9. Compare various levels of physical therapy professional education programs.
10. Compare physical therapy in the United States with those in Taiwan.
 
課程要求
Course Grade: In class discussion: 30%
In class presentation: 20%
Final report: 50%(請每人自訂一個題目,可找吳老師或胡老師約時 間討論)
